3. New contracts for everyone!
There has also been plenty of good news off the pitch, epitomised by the long-term contract offers accepted by several key assets.
The past 12 months have seen Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Jorginho and Ethan Nwaneri all sign new deals – Nwaneri’s first professional terms being a particular coup – as well as the boss himself, who extended his stay until 2027.
It signified a continuation of the Gunners’ new, proactive approach to contract negotiation (William Saliba, Gabriel and Bukayo Saka among those who got new deals in 2023) and a commitment to not letting our best players leave for nothing, something which has happened far too often over previous years.
These latest moves mean Arsenal have kept the core together during their rebuild and the current situation (Carabao Cup semi-finals, third place in the Champions League) proves how they have left us in a good position to finally claim some success.
