Saudi Pro League outfit Al Nassr are plotting an audacious summer transfer for star Arsenal defender Gabriel, who has two years left on his contract.

This isn't the first time Gabriel has been linked with a move to the Middle East. The centre-back was thrust to the periphery at the start of last season as a result of Saudi interest which eventually went away, and Gabriel has struggled to put a foot wrong since his reintegration.

The former Lille defender has developed into one of the world's best centre-backs, blossoming alongside the equally impressive William Saliba. Together, the pair form arguably Europe's premier defensive partnership.

Gabriel's persistent brilliance and newfound responsibility has seen him don the armband on multiple occasions this term. He's a cornerstone of the Mikel Arteta project, and Arsenal won't be letting him out of their sights.

The Gunners may well be put to the test by Al Nassr this summer, with an exclusive report from GiveMeSport revealing that the Saudi club have already contracted Gabriel's representatives over a summer transfer.

The PIF-owned SPL club can offer the 27-year-old the world, with the report suggesting they're willing to triple his salary. Such financial incentives are impossible to ignore, and Gabriel would be teaming up with all-time great Cristiano Ronaldo in Riyadh.

However, while there's a suggestion that Gabriel would be 'open' to a Saudi move at some point of his career, the Brazilian international has plenty of unfinished business in north London. The defender was signed in 2020 and played a bit-part role in a dire 2020/21 campaign. He's seen the club rise from the abyss under Arteta, and the Gunners are ever so close to going all the way. Major trophies beckon, and Gabriel will surely want to be a part of it.

The defender will have two years left on his deal in the summer having signed his previous extension in October 2022. One of Andrea Berta's first tasks as new sporting director will be ensuring Arsenal's key cogs sit down at the negotiating table. Gabriel, Saliba, and Bukayo Saka are among the stars the club should be looking to tie down for the long haul, so we can avoid the situation Liverpool thrust upon themselves this season with Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Mohamed Salah.
