Antoine Semenyo is still in close contact with some of his former Bournemouth teammates. In a recent interview, the Man City attacker revealed that he views this weekend's game against Arsenal as 'interesting' and compared the two sides, who are in starkly opposite form.

When Alex Scott scored against Arsenal, essentially pushing Man City one step closer to the Premier League title, he celebrated by putting a phone to his ear and gesturing he was answering a call. In hindsight, that call he was answering might have been from his former teammate Semenyo.

In his own words, Antoine Semenyo said "Our form over the last couple of games has been good and we're playing probably the best football we've played in the second half of the season. It's a good time to play them, I guess. Where they've dipped in form, we've picked up form, so it'll be interesting."

If it wasn't already, the Man City vs Arsenal fixture this weekend just got even more personal.

Who will Arsenal play to defend against Antoine Semenyo?

Antoine Semenyo will be playing this weekend. That's pretty much a dead cert at this point. He will play on the right, and Jeremy Doku will play on the left, with Erling Haaland through the middle. Rayan Cherki is likely to play just behind Haaland.

So, Mikel Arteta already knows which attack he must prepare to defend against. However, the options for Arteta's back line are much more up in the air and largely depend on injuries.

Riccardo Calafiori has not been ruled out to defend against Semenyo, but the Italian remains a 'doubt.' Off the right-hand side of defence, defending against Man City's left-hand side (Doku), it has to be Jurrien Timber if he's deemed fit enough to play. If Timber can't play, it has to be Cristhian Mosquera.

Arsenal fans will find Antoine Semenyo's comments oddly refreshing

Antoine Semenyo's comments reveal a side to footballers that PR-training tried to hide from fans: they ARE competitive, and they can acknowledge the obvious competition: Who would have thought it?

Fans would assume that form analysis like this happens all the time, but players never truly admit it. While it was at Arsenal's expense, it's somewhat refreshing to hear such behind-the-scenes stories as this one from Semenyo.

Man City are the team that's doing the chasing, but it's not the first time they've been hot on Arsenal's tail. Where Semenyo required a favour from his former team last weekend, he'll need to provide his own favours this week.

Where Arsenal are concerned, they need to take this gas and light their own 'fire.' Mikel Arteta spoke a lot about this fire in the week, but now, it's time to showcase that fire to the world. Arsenal fans can take no more embarrassment, so the spotlight is on the players now.
