Bukayo Saka (RW) - 6.5/10 - Created a couple of moments in the first half but Everton generally did an excellent job on him. Took multiple bodies, but Saka was pretty quiet in this one.

Kai Havertz (ST) - 5/10 - Havertz was a bystander for much of the contest, struggling to get involved. The German drifted wide in a bid to have an influence, but much of his performance was superfluous.

Gabriel Martinelli (LW) - 4/10 - Really poor. This was a game for sustained pressure, but Martinelli struggled to grasp the concept. Far too sloppy in possession and rarely got the better of Ashley Young down his flank.

Substitutes

  • Ethan Nwaneri - 6/10
  • Jorginho - 6/10
  • Gabriel Jesus - 5/10
  • Thomas Partey - 5/10
  • Leandro Trossard - 5/10

Player of the match: Idrissa Gueye (Everton)
