Thomas Partey (CM) - 8/10 - Thought he was the best player on the pitch in the first half. Partey did the dirty work superbly well, but he also showed dynamism in possession by combining and receiving one-twos to bypass the Shakhtar press.

Declan Rice (CM) - 6.5/10 - Another solid night for Rice, who had a role to play in the own goal as he kick-started the move. Shakhtar did have some joy in bypassing the Englishman between the lines.

Leandro Trossard (AM) - 4/10 - As bad as Trossard as performed all season. Sloppy all night and the penalty miss summed up his night.
