With Arsenal's win, it moved to within six points of leaders Liverpool and two points clear of City, with the two set to battle it out in their next match.
What the win does is put the pressure on not one, but both of them to get a positive result.
The Gunners have been in splendid form over the last couple of weeks and are looking ominous, and Liverpool and City must be wary of an Arsenal side that has emerged from the international break looking like a different beast.
