Arsenal are one of several clubs said to be interested in a summer move for Bournemouth star Dean Huijsen, according to a report by the Athletic's David Ornstein.
The Gunners are said to have met with the young centre-back's representatives ahead of a potential transfer this summer and are among several clubs to have done so. Ornstein reported that Mikel Arteta's side are 'perhaps' one of three leading contenders chasing the Spain international's signature, with Liverpool and Chelsea also holding a firm interest.
There is said to be a £50m release clause included in Huijsen's contract and both Bournemouth and the player are said to want a swift outcome to any potential sale. So, the Gunners may have to act quickly if they are to beat any possible rival bidders to the deal.
Arsenal among clubs interested in Bournemouth starlet

Arsenal are just one of the many high-profile clubs interested in a move for Huijsen. Along with Liverpool and Chelsea, Real Madrid, Tottenham and Newcastle are reported to be keen admirers of the centre back.
Ornstein has said that Mikel Arteta and new Gunners sporting director Andrea Berta are huge fans of Huijsen, a factor that could be key in formalising any reported interest. The Arsenal boss has made a habit of bringing defenders to North London during his time at the club, signing ten since 2019.
A product of Malaga and Juventus' academies, Huijsen has enjoyed a breakout season for Bournemouth following a move to the south coast last summer. His impressive appearances have helped the Cherries put themselves in contention for a European finish and have also earned him a call-up to the Spanish national team.

While Arsenal are said to be one of the leading contenders, their current centre-back stock could be an issue. William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are well cemented as the side's starting duo, while Jakub Kiwior is a frequent backup option. Jurrien Timber, Ben White, and Takehiro Tomiyasu are all capable alternatives, too.
As the Gunners prepare for potential battle with big names in the hunt for Huijsen's services, they will likely need to offer the centre-back some assurance of a good amount of playing time. Kiwior has stepped up and performed well recently amid Gabriel's season-ending injury but there is an expectation he could be moved on this summer. If the Poland international does leave North London then Huijsen would be seen as a welcome replacement.
Bournemouth and Huijsen are both reported to want any transfer ordeals to be started and ended quickly so that could act as a hinderance to Arsenal. With no guarantee they can move Kiwior or any other viable centre-back on this summer, convincing Huijsen to join may be tricky. His £50m release clause may make negotiations that little bit easier however.
Ornstein stated there is no signs of any official offers being made by any club at this stage so Huijsen's future is still very much up in the air. There is still a long way to go until the summer transfer window but it is hard to argue that the potential signing of Dean Huijsen would be a great addition to the Arsenal ranks.
