Arsenal should be approaching this summer like its life depends on it, because, well, it does...
If there is one manager in the Premier League who can't afford to have a long, drawn-out summer, it is Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.
With the squad's needs clear for all to see, fans and media alike aren't about to wait for a long, slow process to get the right players through the Emirates' doors.
Andrea Berta's first port of call is a new striker, with Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres being the two names mentioned the most.
Arsenal need swift resolution to summer business
In truth, either player is what the Gunners need, and fans likely want a swift resolution to a deal for either.
Martin Zubimendi is another name that the Gunners appear to be close to getting a deal over the line with, and again, time is of the essence.
Why? Well to quell the anger and frustration from the fanbase after yet another trophyless season that was all the Gunners' own doing.
But also to show the players who might have their heads turned elsewhere (yes, you Mr. Saliba) that the Gunners are in the business of not only trying to get better but also winning trophies.
Now, we aren't saying the Gunners have to go and get all their business done in the opening week of the summer transfer window being open, but more so be proactive.
The club has known for the best part of a year and a half that a new striker has to come in, so one would think that the majority of the groundwork has already been done.
There should be no reason that we get to August and Arsenal has no new striker. Is that asking too much? We don't think and given that the Gunners' rivals won't be sitting on their hands either, it is important for Arsenal to get its deals done in a ,timely fashion.
This is looming as perhaps Arteta's biggest and most defining summer since arriving in north London, and it's one that could make or break him.
Which is why time is of the essence when it comes to getting deals for players done.
The clock is ticking, Mikel.
