Arsenal could be set to receive a record-breaking bid for star winger Gabriel Martinelli, according to GIVEMESPORT.

Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr are reported to be considering a move for the Brazilian as they could turn their attention to him after missing out on their main target Luis Diaz. Liverpool have insisted the Colombian is not for sale.

The Gunners are said to not be willing to sell their star winger, but a potential bid that would see them smash their record sale fee as well as fund a move for a new forward signing could persuade them to let him go.

Al-Nassr are reported to have requested central funding of €85m (£73m) to make a bid. However, it is unclear if this would be for Martinelli, Diaz or another attacking option.

Arsenal are yet to have been contacted by the Saudi side regarding a potential move, but if that request is for the Brazilian, there is a chance some form of negotiations could begin soon.

A fee of £73m would see the Gunners smash their current record player sale. The highest fee they have received is the £35m paid for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Folarin Balogun when they moved to Liverpool and Monaco in 2017 and 2023 respectively.

Such an income could also allow Arsenal to go all out for a winger. They are currently targeting a move for Eberechi Eze alongside their hunt for a striker and wide player, but it is likely a sale would be needed to facilitate all three moves.

The Gunners would most definitely be able to secure a top-quality signing in each position if they were to sell Martinelli for £73m. It would also mean the introduction of another world-class winger would not cause any disruption in the squad.

There would be an uncertainty around whether the winger would even want to make a move. At just 24-years-old, Martinelli has a prosperous career ahead of him and will surely want to continue playing at the highest level. He may not be ready to move to a lower league just yet.

Regardless of potential income though, Arsenal are unlikely to sanction a sale for Martinelli unless they feel it is the definite right decision. The Gunners are reported to want high-quality depth in the wide areas and selling one of their best wingers would stop that, even if they were to sign a replacement. As good as it would be to bring in such a high amount, they are unlikely to sell. However, they should consider it.
