Arsenal have long been considered among those who have shown interest in signing Rogers, but the latest report suggests there is a genuine possibility they could explore making a move for him this summer.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are the other clubs keen on securing his signature with Aston Villa valuing him at more than £80million.
Jacobs claims that a sale in the summer window is expected if it suits all parties, but Rogers is not agitating to leave and is calm if his future is not resolved until the conclusion of the World Cup. However, Villa are prepared to sanction a sale before the tournament, dependent on the right offer.
Rogers enjoyed a brilliant campaign that saw him help Villa to Champions League qualification with a fourth-place finish, as well as win the Europa League for the first time in club history.
During the season, he scored 14 goals and provided 12 assists in 55 appearances in all competitions, including a strike in the 3-0 final win over SC Freiburg, to continue his fine form since first joining Villa from Championship side Middlesbrough in January 2024.
Capable of playing as an attacking midfielder, and on both flanks, Rogers would be a great and versatile addition to Mikel Arteta's side, but considering his quality and potential price, his arrival could force one or two players to be moved on.
The Gunners already have Martin Ødegaard, Eberechi Eze, Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman at their disposal as midfield options while Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard and Noni Madueke mean they are well equipped on either wing.
No Arsenal fan would complain if Rogers was brought into the squad, but there would no doubt need to be decisions made to accomodate the signing. However, that would be worth it as his arrival would help take the Premier League champions a step further to retain the league title, as well as continue to challenge on all possible fronts.
