Arsenal will be playing a mental game as much as a football game against Real Madrid.
The mentality of Mikel Arteta's Arsenal side will be put to the ultimate test in its Champions League quarter final second leg against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Coming into the clash with a 3-0 lead, that can be seen as a dangerous one with the potential mindset being "three goal lead, we can coast" and as Mikel Arteta has already stated, he is going to Spain to win.
But it isn't as easy as that.
Arsenal must deal with mental pressure
A big Champions League clash, on the road, against the defending champs and one of the best teams in world football, it will be anything but a cake walk, and that is with a three-goal lead.
Granted, it is a great position to be in and Mikel Merino's third goal puts this tie into a completely different context now compared to if it was 2-0. But that doesn't mean Arsenal's focus should fall away.
And based on what we have seen from Arteta's Arsenal team over the years, it won't, but they have never been in a situation like this, with so much on the line and in perhaps the most pressurized environment they've ever been in, it will take a herculean effort to escape the Bernabeu with a win.

The 3-0 win would have given the squad immense confidence and to do it without William Saliba as well, will only enhance that feeling, but a quick Madrid goal in the opening stages will change the complexity of this game and it will change in a way that might make the Gunners start to second-guess themselves.
But as we know, football can be a fickle business and it doesn't take long for games to be turned on their heads and that is something Arteta and his team must be wary of. With a solid lead in their back pocket, a glorious chance has arisen for Arteta's side.
Yes, they are in a great space with a 3-0 lead, and knowing they are capable of replicating that is a big mental hurdle to overcome.
They did it in the first leg, can they do it in the second? Arteta is confident, and so are we.
