Arsenal forward Kai Havertz finally feels 'confident and 100 per cent' ahead of his side's trip to Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday.
In the early kick-off on Wednesday, Havertz will finally go back to the place where it all began for him, as Leverkusen was the club that made him a star that every top club in Europe wanted to sign in 2020.
After a dry spell at Chelsea, Havertz has finally become a really important addition to this Arsenal side, scoring goals and creating chances for others in a hybrid striker role that worked really well for Arsenal last season, especially without an out-an-out striker.
Fast forward to 2026, though, and now, Arsenal have signed an out-an-out striker that they have desperately needed for a while. They have also seen Havertz struggle with injuries for a while, and it is only going to be that much sweeter for the German to finally return to these Champions League nights.
Arsenal fans will love what Kai Havertz just said about his fitness
Havertz has made three appearances for Arsenal since coming back from the injury, and is now finally feeling confident, hoping to gain some continuity with the team.
He said: "I'm confident, I'm feeling good, I'm feeling better.
"Obviously things can happen, but I'm feeling 100 per cent ready to play games, I'm feeling fit, and I can't wait to help the team in the next couple of months.”
From an Arsenal perspective, it cannot be better than this. Seeing a player that could potentially link the midfield with the attack perfectly is obviously a good situation to be in, and it will definitely help the team when he finally starts playing the minutes that matter.
At the moment, Arsenal are still winning games, and Viktor Gyokeres is, to an extent, scoring a decent amount of goals. However, it is true that their attack lacks spark and creativity, which could be brought in with Havertz back in the squad.
His ability to move into tight spaces and link up with his teammates is not unknown, and it will definitely help a struggling Gyokeres hoping to score more consistently as Arsenal enter the business end of the season.
Arsenal want to win as many trophies as they can by the end of the season, and there is no doubt that Havertz can contribute to the team's potential success in more ways than one, should he be able to stay fit in the remainder of the campaign.
