Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli has been the subject of interest from Bayern Munich.
We have heard for the best part of 18 months that Arsenal need depth in the wide areas, with Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Leandro Trossard seen as the only three Mikel Arteta can count on.
Of course, we have Ethan Nwaneri too, but we can't expect the youngester to be a crucial part of the first-team just yet.
And that brings us to the summer transfer dealings.
Martinelli has reportedly been the subject of interest from German giants Bayern Munich with the Brazilian not quite delivering as many thought he would when he burst onto the scene all those years ago.
So that brings us to whether or not the Gunners would be willing to part ways with Gabby.
Gunners fools to entertain Martinelli transfer
Considering the Gunners are trying to add depth at the position, unless an otherworldly offer came in for the winger, Arsenal would be silly to entertain the idea of shipping Martinelli off to Bayern.
Of course, we have seen stranger things happen before, but for us, this makes little sense.
With Rodrygo thought to now be a real possibility after his absence during Real Madrid's recent outings, adding him to go with Martinelli and Saka is a proper trio that Arteta could do some damage with.
Given how close Arsenal is (we think) to claiming its first title since 2004, selling a player deemed a surefire starter under Arteta, despite his failings in the final third at times, would be a head-shaking move from the club.
Depth is the name of the game this summer, so too is finally ending the striker search, which has now been going on two years, plus another midfielder ends the Gunners' wish list.
But as for Martinelli moving on? We don't see a realistic reason as to why that would even entertain the mind of Arteta.
