Arsenal has gotten a little boost ahead of its Champions League tie with PSG.
Arsenal are into the semi-finals of the Champions League with French powerhouse PSG the opponent, and you need a little bit of luck to win the competition, and the Gunners might have just gotten it.
After sweeping aside Real Madrid in the quarter-finals, many see PSG as a tougher challenge for Mikel Arteta's side, despite Arsenal beating the French side in the group stage 2-0.
With the Gunners still fighting to secure a top-four spot with their place in Europe right now a little precarious, Arteta's side might have just gotten a little bit of help in their attempts to slay PSG in the first leg at the Emirates.
Or it could go the other way.
In their last league game, PSG, after 30 league games without defeat, fell 3-1 to Nice, which shows the Gunners that the French side, even after their transformation since their 2-0 win, can be beaten.
Granted, if you can beat Real Madrid over two legs, you will be confident you can beat PSG, but there was an aura building.
That might have taken a little hit.
Did Arsenal get boost with PSG loss?
Many could certainly see it that way, and it could be seen as a blip on the radar for the French side, but also, it could have come at the worst time with the Gunners set to pounce and put forth a showing similar to the first leg against Madrid.
Conversely, it could light a fire under PSG and be a loss they "had to have" to keep the fire lit ahead of the semi-final. It could come back to bite the Gunners and a dominating PSG side comes to the Emirates and do away with the Gunners.
Of course, nothing about Arteta's side of late suggests they will be swept aside, but mentality at this stage of the competition is crucial, and with PSG's loss, the Gunners might have just got a little helping hand in seeing that PSG can be beaten, as fourth-place Nice managed to get a vital three points.
Of course, this is just a theory, but at this stage of the season you have to look for any little wins you can get, and with Nice slaying PSG, the Gunners might have just got the biggest little win of the year.
