Arsenal might have just gotten help in its striker search

This upcoming summer for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta is looming as perhaps the biggest one since the Spaniard took over.

With a dire need for a new striker, the Gunners have seen their title challenge fade away over the past couple of months with the injury bug hitting their attacking players and the club not investing in reinforcements.

Well, the club HAS to now.

While there is still plenty of football left in the season, and with Arsenal in the quarter finals of the Champions League against Real Madrid, there is plenty to fight for. But summer plans must always be at the forefront of the mind.

The striker search will be one that all Arsenal fans will be watching intently, and the last thing the club and fans want is for a long, drawn-out saga that sees the club not get any of its top targets.

Arsenal gets boost in striker search

For most, the Gunners' striker shopping list is down to three names - Alexander Isak, Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko.

But wo of the three present a challenge in trying to lure them to the Emirates.

For Gyokeres, he has a relationship with Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim, so if he is to leave Sporting, the Gunners would be going up against that, which is a tall order.

As for Isak, Newcastle is in a great position to rebuff any advances with Champions League football nearly acquired and a trophy in the cabinet this season, so there is no reason for Isak to leave, not to mention the astronomical fee it would take to lure him to north London.

But what about Sesko?

Per Bild, Sesko is wanting a transfer that would see him be a regular starter. At Arsenal? That's a guarantee. Plus, it is reported that play style and competitiveness is also high on Sesko's list.

Well, the Gunners will be super competitive next season, and will be fighting on all fronts for trophies and Sesko would be the starter in evey game that he is fit.

Plus, another piece of information that will be music to the Gunners ears is that per GOAL.com, his release clause is €70m (£58.5m). So he won't break the bank like Isak would.

Is that enough to convince Arsenal to go after Sesko?
