Arsenal continued to add to its impressive record against the Premier League's "big six" with as 1-0 win over Chelsea.
Arsenal's 1-0 win over Chelsea at the Emirates gave Mikel Arteta's side a confidence boost as it is now nine points clear of their rivals who now sit in fourth place.
After yet another dominating start, the Gunners this time got their goal, with Mikel Merino flicking on Martin Odegaard's corner after just 20 minutes to send the home side on their way.
It wasn't all smooth sailing though, with the Gunners again missing some good chances as they could have ended the game as a contest on another day. With Merino on the scoresheet for the second time in three games in all competitions, Arsenal is managing to keep its head about water amid its attacking shortage.
Arsenal improve incredible "top six" record vs. Chelsea
But what the win also did was improve Arsenal's recent record against the Premier League's "top six" with Arteta's side again managing to not only avoid defeat, but win a game that in years gone by, the club would have lost, and often lost heavily.
And it is something that he knows his team has improved.
"Yes, we are capable of competing consistently with really high standards against any kind of opposition and if we continue to do those things we will get rewarded," Arteta said via arsenal.com.

Gone are the days when clashes against Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool and a lesser extent Tottenham where fans don't look forward to the games with heavy defeats often coming Arsenal's way.
Not anymore.
In what is a truly remarkable turnaround after the club was often curb-stomped by the bigger clubs in the league, Arsenal, under Arteta in the Premier League are now unbeaten in their last 20 matches against the top six.
Yes, you read that right.
The last loss came against City back in April of 2023.
Since then? 12 wins and eight draws have followed. The Gunners' record against those teams is as follows: Against City (2 wins, 2 draws), United (3 wins, 1 draw), Chelsea (3 wins, 2 draws), Liverpool (1 win, 2 draws) and Tottenham (3 wins).
That'll do.
But while the record against the big teams has improved, the Gunners still haven't claimed the league title, however maybe that is coming in the next couple of years.
Either way, what was a source of nightmares for Gunners fans, is no longer with Arteta transforming Arsenal it an unbeaten machine against the "big dogs" of the Premier League.
