This afternoon, Mikel Arteta sat down with the media ahead of the Leeds fixture this weekend. Of course, the main talking point on everyone's mind was the injury updates to key players such as Kai Havertz, Ezri Konsa and Christos Tzolis.
Arteta was quick to answer those questions, confirming that Havertz and Konsa would undergo late fitness tests, but Tzolis is ruled out for a few weeks.
Ruled out
William Saliba
William Saliba is unavailable for action tomorrow against Leeds, and he will be for over a month. The Frenchman suffered a back injury at the World Cup, and Arsenal knew heading into this season that he wouldn't be available for action for the first few months of the season, hence why they signed Ezri Konsa as his replacement.
Christos Tzolis
Christos Tzolis is not available to face Leeds, with the feeling being that he'll miss a few weeks of action.
"Yeah, he's not available," said Arteta. "Tzolis has a muscle injury as he's going to be out for a few weeks."
Doubts
Kai Havertz
Kai Havertz's injury doesn't seem as bad as initially thought. Mikel Arteta confirmed that Arsenal would hold a late fitness test for Havertz, so he's not ruled out just yet.
"With Kai, as he had a muscular injury, I spoke to Germany, and they sent the player back as normal."
Ezri Konsa
Ezri Konsa will undergo the same fitness test as Kai Havertz before the match to see if he is ready. "We had good communication with the England camp," said Arteta.
Passed fit
Declan Rice
Despite some confusion around his injury status, Rice is fine and ready to face Leeds this weekend. He removed himself from international duty purely for load management rather than any injury. Arteta confirmed in his press conference that he has had a few issues since the World Cup, which might explain his absence from international duty.
"We have to manage him because he's had a few issues since he came back from the World Cup. Hopefully, tomorrow he's available."
Christian Mosquera
Cristhian Mosquera is back in action for the Gunners after being seen in training following a short injury spell.
Ben White
Ben White missed some action before the international break, but it was never serious. The long break will have helped him, and he is back in contention for the Gunners.
Max Dowman
Max Dowman was pictured in Arsenal's latest training session after having picked up an injury on international duty. He is available to play against Leeds if Arteta deems him ready.
Final thoughts
Arteta's comments seem pretty positive for Arsenal fans on the injry front.
Injuries aside, Arteta has some big decisions to make before the Leeds match this weekend. The main lineup battle takes place in the midfield, with Myles Lewis-Skelly leading Bruno Guimaraes in the confidence charts.
All eyes will be on Arsenal. The Gunners went into the international break with despair after being humbled by Brighton, but with everything that's come out regarding Man City's guilty charges, Mikel Arteta's side seems best placed to complete a dynasty in English football.
As always, Come on You Gunners.
