Well, you've done it. You've mitigated yet another international break. Can we finally allow this 2024/25 campaign to find its groove?

Well, yeah. Kinda. There's another two-week lull to endure in November but after that, we've got our Arsenal all the way through to March. We're nearly there.

The October break allowed rival online dwellers to finally laugh at a William Saliba error, Mikel Arteta to sweat over a couple more injuries, and Leandro Trossard to continue his superb 2024 for club and country. It was a mixed break for our international representatives all things considered, but Arteta will be content with the shape his squad's in ahead of Saturday's Premier League trip to Bournemouth.

Here's a comprehensive Arsenal injury update post-October international break.

Bukayo Saka

Saka will soon be meeting up with Thomas Tuchel when he ventures off to England camps after the FA announced the former Chelsea boss as Gareth Southgate's successor. The German will assume his role from the start of 2025.

The Arsenal star has been a crcuial cog in the national team set-up in recent years, but his October break drew to a premature close after suffering a hamstring injury in the Three Lions drab 2-1 defeat to Greece last Thursday. Saka withdrew from camp and returned to Arsenal, where he's undergone further assessment ahead of Saturday's game.

The indication is that the winger has not picked up a notable injury, with a mere tweak unlikely to keep him out for very long. He should travel down to the South Coast this weekend.

Gabriel Martinelli

After Saka limped off at Wembley, it was revealed over the weekend that Martinelli, despite playing just five minutes during Brazil's 2-1 win over Chile, underwent a scan to determine the severity of a calf injury.

The issue kept him out of Brazil's thumping victory over Peru on Tuesday night, but his absence is thought to be precautionary. Martinelli has not sustained any major damage to his calf and, like Saka, is expected to be in contention on Saturday.

Martin Odegaard

Fears of a setback in recovery have been rubbished by Arsenal, but we've still got some time before the skipper returns to action.

Odegaard has been out since mid-September with an ankle injury, but has supplied positive updates to supporters regarding his recovery.

Arsenal have impressed in his absence, but the Gunners have a second tough run to mitigate over the coming weeks. There's hope the Norwegian will return at some point in November.

Thomas Partey

Partey has so far remained injury-free at the start of 2024/25, with Arsenal reportedly ready to offer the veteran midfielder a contract extension following his bright opening to the new season.

The 31-year-old did not meet up with the Ghana squad during the October break, but Partey was believed to be struggling with an illness as opposed to any sort of injury. As a result, his status for the trip to Bournemouth isn't in doubt.

Kai Havertz

Arsenal wised up this time around, not allowing Havertz to travel with the German squad after he picked up a knock during the Gunners' 3-1 win over Southampton before the break.

Havertz has been a critical figure to Arteta's side in 2024, and any sort of prolonged absence would be hard felt. Fortunately, the club's recent mitigation regarding the knock he suffered less than two weeks ago means he should be fit for Saturday's game.

Jurrien Timber

While Partey and Havertz are expected to feature this weekend, there are a few more doubts over Timber, who wasn't included in the Netherlands squad and missed the win over Southampton two Saturdays ago.

The Dutchman has been majestic through the first two months of 2024/25, showing few signs of rust having missed much of his debut season due to an ACL tear. However, Arsenal must be smart in regards to Timber's workload, and he was withdrawn after starring in the first half against PSG in the Champions League due to a muscular complaint.

He hasn't featured since, and while the defender's setback will not keep him out for much longer, Arsenal may experess further caution this weekend with a clash with Liverpool upcoming.

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Tomiyasu made his first appearance of the season off the bench against the Saints before the break, but if the latest reports are to be believed, the defender has quickly returned to the sidelines.

The versatile defender has been dealing with recurring knee and calf problems over the past couple of years, and his latest injury setback - a knee issue - is set to keep him out for another month.

Rinse and repeat.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

After a strong end to pre-season, Zinchenko started Arsenal's first Premier League of the season but he's gone AWOL since. The left-back has been dealing with a calf problem over the past month or so, and Arteta said towards the end of September that the Ukrainian would be out "for a few more weeks".

We may well be approaching Zinchenko's return date, but there have been few updates over the break.

Kieran Tierney

Tierney has almost certainly already played his last minutes in an Arsenal shirt and rumours are beginning to emerge over a Celtic reunion in January.

The Scottish international has not played a minute this season after suffering a nasty knee injury at Euro 2024.
