Mikel Arteta's Arsenal side was once again left lamenting the inability to cash in on its dominance against Manchester United.
Arsenal was forced to settle for a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford against Manchester United, but Mikel Arteta and the squad will know it should have been a win.
In what is a big theme of the 2024/25 season, Arsenal and its inability to cash in on its dominance again game home to roost.
The Gunners dominated the first half with chances not being taken, and United only looking half threatening on the counterattack.
Mikel Merino and Martin Odegaard has chances but couldn't take advantage, and then Bruno Fernandes' free kick on the stroke of halftime gave United an undeserved lead.
Gunners again failed to make dominance count
The Gunners were then forced to chase the game, and Declan Rice's superb finish midway through the second half brought his side level, but they couldn't go on and take all three points. It could have been worse had David Raya not played Superman between the sticks, twice denying guilt-edged chances from United to keep his team in the game.
In total, 17 shots to 10 and 69 percent possession to 31 tells the story, and its one that leaves Arsenal feeling frustrated once again.
"It's frustrating not to win the game with everything we did, especially in the first half, the first 43-44 minutes, how we dominated every aspect of the game, full control," Arteta said via arsenal.com. "We lacked a little bit in the final 15-20 metres, to have more shots, more purpose, more direction, the last pass, the last action, but the game is clearly for us and in the direction that we wanted."

The Gunners, while the fightback was good, will again be left frustrated at not being able to make their early dominance count as they did in the first half against PSV that saw three goals slammed on in the opening 30 minutes.
With the Dutch side up next midweek before a home clash against Chelsea, Arsenal has a great chance to get the good vibes back and what's more, the return of Gabriel Martinelli was a sight for sore eyes.
The Brazilian, who had been missing for what felt like forever, was a second-half substitute and got a full 30-odd minutes in the bank as he works back from injury.
Maybe another cameo against PSV midweek will see the Gunners finally start to take advantage of their dominance and the goals to flow.
But right now, frustration is the only feeling emanating from the locker room.
