The Gunners could be looking to move on from Kai Havertz at the end of the season according to reports.
You will be hard-pressed to find an Arsenal player as maligned as Kai Havertz.
His form this season has resembled a yo-yo with the forward often tasked with leading the Gunners front line due to a lack of proper strikers at the club, and while Havertz has scored 15 goals in all competitions in 34 games, had he taken the host of chances that have fallen his way, we could have seen his goal tally rise into the mid-20s, if not more.
Now in his third season in north London, Havertz has scored a total of 29 goals in his 85 appearances along with 12 assists, and while his good games are really good, his bad are really bad.
And there lies the problem: The Gunners need a consistent goal-scorer to lead them to the Premier League title. Some thought a striker would come in during the January transfer window, but not a soul came through the door.
But what about in the summer? According to Mick Brown, a former scout, who spoke to Football Insider, the Gunners have been looking at offloading Kai for a little while now.
“The talk about Havertz has been going on for long enough now,” Brown said. "There’s a feeling at Arsenal that if they’re going to win the Premier League title, they need somebody better to lead the line. There are times where he looks a real player, he offers good movement and all of that, but other times he misses chances you can’t really afford to be missing. I think, for now, they accept that he’ll do enough to get them to the end of the season because he does still score goals, he’s not totally useless.”

Now, exactly what Arsenal could get for Kai is another question, and Brown hints at the inconsistencies in Havertz's game as a reason why the Gunners could move on from the German.
But doing so would again leave then short on attacking options even with a striker coming in during the summer, because of Gabriel Jesus' ACL injury, he will be out of action for 12 months.
So, Kai might not be everyone's cup of tea, and while he is often ridiculed for his performances, Kai has been played out of position for almost the entirety of his Arsenal career.
Which if the reports are to be believed, might not be lasting too much longer.
