Arsenal are reported to be looking to make progress on 'several fronts' in their hunt for a striker, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

The Gunners have opened talks with RB Leipzig over the potential signing of Benjamin Sesko and that would seemingly indicate they have made the Slovenian their priority striker target. That is not necessarily the case however, with Tavolieri reporting the club are looking to make progress on several fronts simulataneously to avoid ending the transfer window without a new centre forward.

Sesko is yet to agree personal terms with Arsenal whereas Viktor Gyokeres is reported to have so the possibility of either goalscorer heading to north London remains wide open.

This does seem to be a smart tactic by Arsenal. They have gone without a striker over the past few transfer windows, albeit without any real attempts in the market, and this approach should hopefully prevent this occuring once again.

If Gyokeres has agreed terms with the Gunners, he should be keen on moving to the Emirates Stadium so the club could afford to play the waiting game with the deal.

The last thing Arsenal want is for no deal with a striker to be agreed. If they make progress in negotiations over multiple strikers simultaneously, that should be avoided. Gyokeres and Sesko are both quality options so there should be no complaints over whoever ends up in north London.

Gyokeres would be my preferred choice with him being a deadly goalscorer at this current time. Sesko is also a talented player, but due to a touch of rawness in his ability, he would be coming to the club as a player in need of some further development for the future.

There are other strikers linked with a move to the Gunners and with Andrea Berta at the helm, there can be full confidence the club are in talks, even if we don't hear it published in the news every single day.

Arsenal's main priority this summer is bringing a striker to the club and so long as they do that, everybody will be happy. Their reported tactic of simultaneous talks will ensure that happens and it looks as if either Gyokeres or Sesko will be playing their football in north London next season.
