Arsenal claimed a 2-0 win over Manchester United, with the much-vaunted set-piece threat responsible for both goals.

Slow start, but bruising finish

While the scoreline reads a comfortable Arsenal win, the first half, and in particular the first 25 minutes, left a lot to be desired, and one could make the case that United were the better side.

But as we have seen from Arteta's team, they can shift gears and went to a level United couldn't in the second half, with the visitors crumbling under the pressure created by the Gunners' 13 corners. However, that could be troubling down the road, as on another day, the joy United had in the opening stages might see the Gunners behind.

So yes, the dominant second-half performance was good for the soul, but this wasn't all one-way traffic. However, it's nice to see the Gunners click through the gears when they need to. We just wish they were at full speed from the get-go.
