Arsenal summer signing Noni Madueke scored his first goal for England in a 5-0 World Cup Qualifying win over Serbia on Tuesday night.

The winger opened his account for the Three Lions with a fine run and chipped finish to make it 2-0 after 35 minutes. His goal came just moments after Declan Rice had assisted the nation's first goal.

Having made the move from west London to north during the transfer window, Madueke has a lot to prove in a Gunners shirt, but will have certainly impressed many after reaching a major individual milestone with his first international goal.

Madueke's maiden goal came as he won his ninth cap for England after making his debut almost exactly a year ago. He even contributed in that game as he came off the bench to assist Harry Kane in a 2-0 win over the Republic of Ireland.

Finding the back of the net for the Three Lions could do the winger the world of good as he looks to prove a point at the Emirates Stadium. Fans were torn over his summer move from Chelsea, but he faces a run in the team due to Bukayo Saka's current injury and this moment could help propel him to the next level.

His goal against Serbia will not only be a confidence booster, but has also earned him a place in England's unique history book or the Scrabble history books, not sure which. He became the first player with all five vowels of the English language in his name to score for the Three Lions since Paul Gascoigne did so against Moldova in 1997. That's one for you pub quizzers!

Madueke joins his Arsenal teammates in impressing throughout the international break. Fellow England international Declan Rice provided two assists in the win in Serbia after scoring in a 2-0 victory over Andorra on Saturday. Mikel Merino also stole the headlines with a brilliant hat-trick in Spain's 6-0 win over Turkey on Sunday evening.

There will still be some uncertainty among supporters until the winger has proven himself in Gunners colours, but there are some positive signs starting to show.

He looked good in spells in the 1-0 defeat to Liverpool and his first goal for his country will now give him plenty to build on. Fans will be hoping his performances on the international stage will help him get fully underway at club level.
