Arsenal are monitoring a move for Elche midfielder Rodrigo Mendoza and are considering making a bid for the talent, according to multiple reports.
The Spanish star has been labelled "the next Pedri" and has attracted interest from the Gunners and a number of other top European clubs with Mikel Arteta's side aware they will face "intense competition" in their attempts to secure the talent's signature.
With comparisons being drawn to fellow wonderkid Pedri, Mendoza is certainly a special talent and Arsenal could very well be looking to add him to their ranks.

Following a number of rumours over the past week, Sam Dean of the Telegraph reported that Arsenal were monitoring a move for Mendoza. He affirmed that Arteta's side were not the only club interested in the talent with other European giants, including Real Madrid, other clubs from Spain, and Italian sides, all looking at him.
There is a possibility of securing the Spain youth international's services for a bargain fee as his Elche contract is reported to include a £17.5m release clause. That would certainly be a great deal for the Gunners as his performances for his side have seen him labelled "the next Pedri" and emerge as one of his nation's biggest prospects.
He made his breakthrough in the Elche first team during the 2023/24 campaign before helping them earn promotion to La Liga last season. Having remained a crucial part of the side this term, he has already scored six goals and provided two assists in 61 appearances for the club.
It is no surprise that his performances have earned him plenty of praise and interest from a number of top sides. Despite the interest, he is expected to remain at Elche until the end of the season, but there is a possibility he could leave if his release clause is triggered in January.
Arsenal will face a lot of competition if they are to attempt to sign Mendoza, but if they are the side to secure his services, he would be an excellent addition to Arteta's setup. He is an incredibly talented player and with plenty of time to continue his development, he would very much be one for the future in the red half of north London.
