Arsenal name Gabriel Jesus asking price as Newcastle eye shock transfer

Newcastle are eyeing a shocking transfer for Gabriel Jesus. Arsenal have named an even more surprising asking price for the Mikel Arteta signing.
Things do not look great for Arsenal. They went into the season aiming to win the Premier League at the third time of asking. However, as it stands after ten games, they are outside of the top four.
So, understandably, fans have entered into panic stations. This was not helped with the news this week that Edu Gaspar had stepped down from his role as sporting director.
In many ways, Arsenal are beginning to look unrecognisable. That might seem like a hysterical thing to say given the position which Arsenal find themselves in. However, this is the mood at the club.

According to a report from Fichajes, one player is linked with a move away from Arsenal. The Spanish outlet claims that Gabriel Jesus is wanted by Newcastle and Arsenal would sell him for €55m (£46m)
Newcastle have ambitions of becoming one of England's best clubs. Given how they have performed over the last few seasons, they can certainly achieve this, especially given their financial takeover.
It is believed that signing Gabriel Jesus would be the ideal transfer for the Magpies. With great Premier League experience already, the Brazilian would slot well into the Newcastle team.
It is also worth noting that Newcastle have an exceptional Brazilian core. Therefore, Gabriel Jesus would only elevate the Brazilian centrepiece within the Newcastle side.
It remains to be seen whether or not Gabriel Jesus would be open to the move. After all, he has a great relationship with Mikel Arteta, which complicate matters for Newcastle. However, nobody can deny that Newcastle is an attractive project for any Premier League player.
Gabriel Jesus provided plenty of attacking firepower to Arsenal when he first signed from Man City. However, it is fair to say that so far this season and throughout last season, Jesus has fallen further down the Arsenal pecking order.
At this point in time, Kai Havertz is viewed as the preferred option in the striker role. Jesus also cannot compete for the wide spots in the attack. Therefore, he is often used as a substitute.
