Arsenal managed a 2-0 win over Manchester United.

Arsenal has now won four consecutive matches over Manchester United after a 2-0 win at the Emirates Stadium, leaving Mikel Arteta happy with his team's performance.

Without Gabriel in defense, the Gunners didn't miss a beat with their set-pieces, with both second half second-halfgoals coming from corners.

Jurrien Timber got on the end of Declan Rice's corner, while Thomas Partey was found at the back post by Bukayo Saka and the Ghanian's header hit William Saliba and found its way into the net.

After a poor first half, the Gunners clicked into gear, with United relenting under the pressure of 13 corners from the hosts, as the pressure proved to be too much.

There were ample positives, Mikel. Most notably David Raya's save that defied the laws of physics to deny Matthijs de Ligt in the first half.

The way that Jakub Kiwior and Oleksandr Zinchenko slotted in for Gabriel and Riccardo Calafiori considering both only have had two combined starts for the season, was also pleasing. So, too, was Arsenal's threat from set-pieces, which many thought wouldn't be the case without our hulking Brazilian terrorizing defences.

But with corner deliveries from Rice and Saka that one could describe as nearly perfect, the Gunners took full advantage as United couldn't cope with the second-half barrage.

The win now sees Arsenal continue its fine form post-international break, making it four wins on the bounce, and it has closed the gap on league leaders Liverpool to seven points. Although Chelsea have made ground, moving above the Gunners into second on goal difference after its 5-1 thumping of Southampton.

But the Gunners are looking ominous, and Mikel will be pleased with their ability to switch gears in the second half.

Once seen as a fixture where Arsenal got obliterated, now it's the Gunners dishing out the punishment, and from set-pieces no less. Who would've thought?
