With January nearly half over, and no signings coming in, does Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta feel pressure to sign reinforcements?

Arsenal suffered a 2-2 draw at the Emirates with Aston Villa clawing themselves back from a two-goal deficit to get a share of the spoils.

Over the last few weeks, the calls for the Gunners to sign some reinforcements as the cub deals with a host of injuries and a lack of a clear goal scorer up top, fans wanted signings to be made.

But so far, aside from a few reports and rumors, no new players have come walking through the door.

With the Gunners now six points behind league leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand, Arsenal sits in a precarious position with the margin for error nearly gone.

Couple that with the injuries and inability to consistently put away the host of golden chances that Arsenal are creating, it is easy to see why the calls for the club to make signings are so loud.

But does Arteta feel pressure to make a signing this window?

"Not at the result at the moment," Arteta said via arsenal.com. "You look at the performances, I don’t know how many teams are playing at this level in the league. When you look at the bench, probably you say I think we are very short."

One thing we know about Arsenal under Arteta, is that he won't make a signing just for the sake of it, the player must being quality into the squad and either raise the ceiling ro floor of the team.

Arteta doesn't' want a player who will clog up the squad.

Over the last few days, we have seen reports that the Gunners are interested in signing Viktor Gyökeres or Benjamin Sesko to help solve their attacking issues with ESPN reporting the club is weighing up whether a £70m move now or a short loan is the right way to go for Sesko.

Then we have Gyökeres, who Arsenal has been linked with for months.

So, there are two options that the Gunners are reportedly considering and in truth, either would be a substantial upgrade to what Arsenal has now and would alleviate the pressure on Kai Havertz and Co. to consistently score goals. Plus, a genuine forward is what the club is crying out for.

Will Arsenal spend in January and finally get some much-needed attacking help?
