Max Dowman made his senior team debut for Arsenal last month, and ever since then, his name has been circling in the media and on the tongues of Arsenal fans.

The kid is only 15 years old and has something special about him, having already broken an English record. Dowman is said to be the most promising talents coming out of Hale End since Bukayo Saka, and that says something about the potential he has.

Dowman plays as an attacking midfielder and occasionally as a wide playmaker from the right. His passing and vision in breaking the final third, finding spaces to exploit, and creating chances for the forwards are talked about all the time.

He has that ability to see what most midfielders his age and style cannot, which is exactly why he stands out. The young man has the trust of the manager, who has always praised his talent and expressed awe at the sheer difference between his age and the way he plays.

Arsenal are in Spain to face Athletic Club in a few hours, and something exciting has come out right before the big clash. As observed from the training photos, Dowman was seen donning a ‘56’ shirt rather than a ‘U19’ one, clearly indicating that he has been given a first-team spot by the club pending formal announcement.

This comes rightfully after the continuous display of excellence and promise from the Englishman. He fully deserves the promotion and could also become the youngest player to ever play in the Champions League tonight at 15 years and 258 days. The record is currently held by Youssoufa Moukoko, who set it at 16 years and 18 days in 2020.

Particularly in view of tonight’s match, in addition to the reason of breaking the aforementioned record, Dowman should absolutely be given some minutes by Arteta. He has proved in previous games that his quality is unquestionable, and he really brings that edge to the team when things start getting slow and out of pace.

He has power in both feet alike to the point that you cannot distinguish which is his dominant one, and he has troubled opposing defenses and goalkeepers several times. It's time that, following the promotion, he is given some promising minutes in the Champions League.

Dowman has the power to be Arteta’s mind on the pitch, and a special foundation for that could be laid today. Not to mention the morale boost it would be for the 15-year-old to play a Champions League night on foreign soil. The club’s trust in him is unbridled, now confirmed with the promotion he has earned, but giving him a chance in this game could solidify that position.
