Arsenal gets a break from domestic football with Dinamo Zagreb coming to the Emirates Stadium in the Champions League.

Mikel Arteta's Arsenal get a reprieve from domestic competition when Dinamo Zagreb come to the Emirates in the Champions League.

With a chance for the Gunners to take a big step in booking their spot in the Round of 16, this clash presents a great opportunity for Arsenal to bounce-back from their disappointing 2-2 draw with Aston Villa in the Premier League.

The fixtures are piling up on an Arsenal team that is desperate for some reinforcements, but despite the Gunners struggling at times due to injuries and players having more on their plate from a physical standpoint, Gabriel Martinelli is ready for all the smoke on Wednesday night.

“We're ready to go,” Martinelli said via arsenal.com. “We play for Arsenal, we are proud of ourselves and we want to play every game and win all of them. We can't choose the games. We are going to go for it. We're ready and we're going to go there to win the game.”

After six matchdays, the Gunners sit nicely in third, having won four, draw one and lost one to be within five points of Liverpool who sit atop the new-look table.

Zagreb have won just two of their Champions League contests, and have conceded a whopping 15 goals, so the Gunners will fancy their chances of getting a positive result against the Croatian giants.

The visitors don't come into this clash in the best of form, with only one win in their last five league meetings as they currently sit third in the HNL, seven points off leaders Rijeka.

For Arsenal, on paper, this looms as a "get well" game for Arteta's side and with limited resources in attack, the Gunners might have to field much of the same lineup that managed to be up 2-0 against Villa after 55 minutes.

Tucking away chances has been Arsenal's biggest Achilles heel this season and while we have seen the Gunners score two goals in back-to-back games, chances have still gone begging, and you don't have to look no further than the last 20 minutes against Villa to see how many were squandered.

But against a Zagreb side that has conceded 15 goals in six games in Europe, maybe the visitors have come to the Emirates at the right time, and Arsenal will get back into that goal-scoring groove while also giving their chances of qualifying for the next phase a huge boost in the process.
