Arsenal has received a £79.8m transfer bid from William Saliba. It was expected, but the club who sent the offer might surprise you.

Since joining Arsenal and making the move from France to England, William Saliba has gone from strength to strength. In fact, he is now considered as one of the best defenders in the world.

Without a doubt, the Frenchman is the best defender currently playing for England. His presence for Arsenal is known, as the Gunners are a far better side with him orchestrating the defence.

William Saliba has become a figure of interest to Real Madrid. Los Blancos are known to be interested in signing William Saliba from Arsenal. However, they will face competition, if reports are anything to go by.

According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Paris Saint-Germain has submitted a £79.8m transfer proposal to Arsenal for the services of William Saliba.

The report claims that while it is a hard to reject offer, Arsenal hopes that William Saliba will buy into the Arsenal project more. Given that he is under contract until 2027, Arsenal holds the power to control the future of the Frenchman.

Understandably, Arsenal would like to keep William Saliba for a long time. If he is this good at a young age, imagine how incredible he will become in the future. In fact, Saliba is already viewed without the "young player" tag and he is held to the standard of an experienced professional.

Over the last two seasons, William Saliba has made his presence known within the Premier League. Already, Arsenal looks like a better team with him in the lineup than without him. In fact, the difference is quite staggering since he arrived.

Arsenal is now a team to be feared. Whereas before teams would travel to face Arsenal expecting a defensive slip up or more, strikers more often than not have a difficult time competing with Saliba.
