Arsenal's Bukayo Saka was lucky not to suffer injury after a red card was shown to Leif Davis after 32 minutes.

Arsenal's march towards another top-four finish got a boost with a 4-0 win over Ipswich Town to consolidate the Gunners' position in second, but they could have nearly lost Bukayo Saka to injury...again.

With Arsenal in cruise control at 2-0, Saka was brought down from behind by Leif Davis, and he was shown a red card for his studs-up challenge that went through the back of Bukayo, leaving the winger in a crumpled heap on the turf.

As Davis was given his marching orders, the Gunners had a degree of comfort in the game, and in the second half, Leandro Trossard grabbed his second goal, and Ethan Nwaneri rounded off the afternoon's work with a deflected goal.

But despite it being a comfortable afternoon, there was concern for Saka as he was taken off after 57 minutes.

Saka lucky to avoid injury vs. Ipswich

Considering the game wasn't done at 2-0, taking Saka off led many to think that the injury bug had bitten yet again, only after we have enjoyed Bukayo's return in recent weeks.

However, post-game, Arteta stated that Saka is indeed, fine after initial thought that it was a serious injury.

"I do, especially with the numbers we have right now and especially when [tackles] are with your back to goal because normally it's the moment when the foot is planted, your weight is there and you cannot really react to it, but he's fine," Arteta said via arsenal.com.

Considering the Gunners are into the semi-finals of the Champions League against PSG and that top four, while in a good position to be in the competition next season, isn't assured, the Gunners perhaps got a little break.

We have seen tackles like that rule players out for months, but luckily Saka was able to stay on the pitch, and we get the sense that Arteta took him off as a precaution because while the game was in hand at 2-0, the Spaniard clearly felt comfortable enough to withdraw his star winger.

In the end, the Gunners were just fine without Saka as the club clearly doesn't want their star to see the inside of the treatment room again for a long time.

And thankfully, he won't.
