Arsenal's brilliant defensive record has put Chelsea legend John Terry on alert, he signalled in a recent interview.

Arsenal have conceded just five goals in 16 games this season, which is an exceptional start to the current campaign.

All of those five goals have come in the Premier League, where they sit at the top of the table, with 11 games played.

They have kept seven clean sheets this season just in the league alone, which is crazy, and it took a mammoth effort from Sunderland to put two past them, being the only team to do that this season.

These statistics and numbers have put Terry on alert, with a lot of worry around Arsenal potentially challenging Chelsea's all-time Premier League record of just 15 goals conceded.

John Terry is a 'little nervous' seeing Arsenal's defensive record

Terry said that while he still thinks Chelsea's record will stand still, Arsenal do have him a little nervous.

He said: "I have to say I’m actually a little bit worried now. I’m looking at their fixtures on a weekly basis, seeing where they’re going to potentially concede goals but I have to say, I have to give them credit, they look very good at the moment.

"I still think it’s going to be too much to beat our record but being honest, I’m a little nervous."

The fact that the Chelsea legend is actively looking at the Gunners' results makes it really fun. Arsenal may or may not beat the record - it will be incredibly difficult either way - but it is good to see the captain and leader of the best defensive team in the league's history to be worried about Arsenal just 11 games into the season.

It shows that Mikel Arteta is doing something right, and what these Arsenal players are achieving week in week out is truly special.

Even if Arsenal are not able to break the record by the end of the season, being in the same vicinity would be a huge, huge win for them, too.

People have to also understand that if they are close to that record by the end of the season, even if they don't beat it, it is very likely that they will end up winning the Premier League.

There are not that many clubs who defend as well as that and still end up short, and Arsenal really have what it takes to put on a Premier League masterclass this season.
