Arsenal are to bolster their attack this summer, and although a new striker is the priority, additions out wide are also required.
Expect the club to be linked with a whole host of names as we approach the end of the 2024/25 season, with Athletic Club's Nico Williams and Bourenmouth's Antoine Semenyo regarded as potential options.
Arsenal have generally targeted stars years away from their peak under Mikel Arteta's tutelage, but we've reached a critical juncture in the Spaniard's project. Thus, we can expect a shift in approach on the transfer front given the club's need to win now.
Links to potential 29-year-old free agent Leroy Sane exemplify this change.
Arsenal want to sign Leroy Sane as a free agent this summer
🚨🆕 There have been, and still are, internal sceptics about Leroy Sané’s contract extension.

Arsenal have been tenuously linked with the Bayern Munich winger in recent months as a result of his ambiguous contract situation which is yet to be resolved. Sane is well into the final year of his deal, and there's a chance he walks as a free agent in June.
According to Florian Plettenberg, the Gunners are monitoring the ongoings in Munich. The reporter understands that the north Londoners are 'seriously interested' in signing Sane on a Bosman this summer, adding that talks have already taken place with the player's entourage.
""Yes, I've already said that. I'm focused on my performances; that's the most important thing.""Sane on wanting to stay at Bayern
However, the winger could yet extend his stay in Bavaria. Plettenberg writes that Sane, who reportedly earns £280,000 a week, must be willing to accept a pay cut to remain at Bayern, with Max Eberl, the club's chief sport officer, leading negotiations. No offer has been put towards Sane yet, however.
A decision from Bayern is expected soon, and the winger's recent form may convince the club to provide Sane with a rather generous offer. His season started slowly under new manager Vincent Kompany, but he's impressed in 2025 and has registered five goal contributions in his five previous Bundesliga outings. Sane was on the scoresheet twice as Bayern beat St Pauli 3-2 at the weekend.
The German wants to remain where he is, but would surely be open to reuniting with Arteta, whom he worked with at Manchester City. Sane was dynamite at the Etihad, and although injuries have limit his destructiveness on his Bundesliga return, the 29-year-old has shown more than enough in recent seasons that he could be a potential game-changer for the Gunners.
