Myles Lewis-Skelly has been named in the England squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

New Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel has handed the youngster a call-up to the senior side after an impressive breakout season with Arsenal's first team.

The left back will be looking to carry on his good form on the international stage and can look to capitalise on playing in an area where England have struggled to find a suitor in recent years.

Lewis-Skelly's maiden England call-up comes in sync with Thomas Tuchel's first set of fixtures as manager and that will offer him a chance to impress.

The youngster has played regularly at international youth level, having represented England from Under-16s to Under-19s. He has made 35 appearances across the teams and been captain a number of times.

It is likely Tuchel will hand Lewis-Skelly his debut at some point in the games against Albania and Latvia and the left back will be hoping the valuable experience he has picked up at youth level and his sparkling form for Arsenal can help him make a name for himself in the squad.

Speaking on Lewis-Skelly's first call-up, Tuchel said: "We were always impressed with Myles since he started. He became so quickly a regular player for Arsenal, the second-best team in the country at the moment."

The Three Lions have struggled to find consistency at left back over the past few years and often had to play right-footed players in the position. While naturally a midfielder, Lewis-Skelly's best performances for the Gunners have come on the left side of defence and if he impresses, he can make it his own. He will have to battle with the likes of Tino Livramento and Dan Burn for the position however.

Lewis-Skelly has potential to become one of the youngest Arsenal players to appear for England, at just 18 years old and six months old. There will be no breaking Theo Walcott's record however, who made his maiden Three Lions appearance at just 17 years and two months old.
