Arsenal have reached a full agreement on personal terms with Cristhian Mosquera, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners' interest in the Valencia defender emerged on Thursday after Romano and David Ornstein revealed they were working on a deal to sign him. It appears Arsenal have made Mosquera their main option as a defensive signing.
Mikel Arteta's side have struck an agreement on the player's side and are also planning to submit a new bid with the hopes of securing a deal.

Arsenal have had a busy week in terms of transfers, agreeing deals for Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Norgaard and they now seem to be closing in on signing Mosquera.
Their initial €14m bid for the defender was rejected by Valencia, but the Gunners are set to submit a new proposal, hoping to secure a deal.
Arteta's side feel they can get the move done for a fee in excess of €20m, and that wouldn't be bad total for a player of Mosquera's ability. Considering his contract expires next year, Valencia are likely to fold and accept such a price.
Arsenal will be glad they've agreed personal terms with the player as that should now help them strike a deal with Valencia. Their confidence in agreeing a deal for just over €20m should mean they can manage to keep their spending low as they continue their hunt for a striker.
It also means another priority should be dealt with early on in the transfer window. Two midfielders and a backup goalkeeper are practically already through the door and an impending deal for Mosquera will mean the desired defensive option is also added.
Despite their slow start, the past week shows that Arsenal do mean business in the transfer window, but once a deal for Mosquera is agreed, they really have to turn their focus to signing a new striker.
