Arsenal is need of a striker this summer, but the club could go in a completely different direction with who it could target.

Arsenal and no striker - name a better duo over the past 18 months as the Gunners have been in desperate need for a quality forward.

But despite two transfer windows coming and going, the Gunners haven't landed their big fish yet, but this summer it is gut-check time for the club.

The likes of Alexander Isak, Benjamin Sesko, and Viktor Gyrokeres have all seen their names consistently linked with the club as all would be the right striker for Arsenal, but each present their own set of challenges in getting a deal done.

Isak would cost an astronomical amount of money, not to mention contract talks between Arsenal and Newcastle would drag on, despite him being the best of the bunch.

Gyokeres has Manchester United links with Ruben Amorim, which leaves Sesko as another option, but he could also be rather expensive, but the striker position isn't one that you can expect to get top quality and not pay for it.

But are there any other options that the Gunners could look at?

Gunners striker search could take interesting turn

So we have been through the top three candidates for Arsenal in its striker search, but we can't bank on the club narrowing its focus to just that trio; the search has to be wider.

And it is here where an interesting option has been floated, and it's Fiorentina's Moise Kean.

Having spent time with Juventus and PSG, Kean in just 36 appearances in all competitions for Fiorentina this season, has scored 20 goals. That is more than serviceable.

Boasting the speed, physical traits and a tenaciousness that the Gunners would love in their front line, Kean, being just 25 years old, could be seen as a solid alternative to the trio mentioned above.

The big question is does Arteta and the club want to "settle" for a lesser-known commodity in Kean, or at this stage of the project, does Arsenal want a crown jewel up top to lead the front line for the five plus years?

We are about to see how serious the club is in getting a quality striker, because if one of Isak, Gyokeres or Sesko is signed, then fans will be ready to rock for next season.

But will they feel the same about Kean?
