According to reports in England, Arsenal are among a few clubs who are interested in signing La Liga's biggest breakout star of the 2025-26 season.
Even though Arsenal have just signed a striker recently in Victor Gyokeres, they might be looking to get back in the market for Karl Etta Eyong, a striker from Cameroon who plays for Levante.
Villarreal recently sold him to Levante for a fee of around three million euros, and now, Arsenal are one of the clubs who have shown some sort of interest for the player's signature.
This is according to Ben Jacobs, who also did an exclusive interview with Eyong recently, talking about his break-out campaign, where he has scored six goals and provided three assists in 12 games.
There are a number of other clubs - even those in the Premier League, like Manchester United and Chelsea - who have shown interest in him, and have scouted him.
Eyong could be a good addition to Arsenal, but there is a twist
Eyong would presumably keep his options open, although he has said that he likes Chelsea and Manchester United in the interview due to an affinity for a number of strikers who have played there.
It is also worth noting that there are a lot of strikers already at Arsenal. Let's not forget two of them who are set to return soon in Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz.
Obviously, the problem with Jesus is that he has been very inconsistent and injury-prone in these last few years. Havertz, on the other hand, has been good, even if the fans have had a bad opinion on him sometimes.
That is what makes this such an interesting case. Havertz provides a lot of things other than goals, but he is not really a true goalscorer the way Eyong is setting out to be.
With Jesus' future unclear as well, there could be a situation where one of those two strikers is sold to make room for Eyong, and then see some healthy competition among the three players.
Havertz - or even Jesus, if he ends up staying - have the ability to play multiple positions, and have helped the team out from other areas of the pitch before, so it would keep the depth for Arsenal.
Eyong, frankly, is too good a prospect to miss out on. He has one more goal than Vinicius Jr this season, while only being behind Kylian Mbappe in goal contributions in La Liga (joint second with Julian Alvarez and Vinicius Jr), so he is clearly a good striker.
The question remains where Arteta would deploy him, and whether the player would actually want to join in the summer of 2026. This is something worth keeping an eye on.
