Arsenal are targeting a move to sign Blackburn Rovers youth striker Igor Tyjon this summer, according to the Athletic.

Amid a busy summer, the Gunners are reported to be wanting to strengthen their academy as well as their first team and they have landed on the Blackburn academy star as a potential incoming.

As Hale End stars slowly make their way into the Arsenal first team, it is a positive sign the club want to ensure their youth sides are constantly reinforced and bringing Tyjon in from the Lancashire side would be a great start.

Arsenal will face competition in their attempts to sign Tyjon. His efforts for Blackburn have seen him attract interest from a number of Premier League sides this summer.

If the Gunners are successful in bringing him to the club, he will become part of their Under-21 squad, a decent achievement for someone who is still just 17-years-old.

He played in Blackburn's U21 side over the past two seasons, scoring six goals in 12 appearances. His performances earned him a call-up to the club's senior side, making his debut in September 2024 before playing as a substitute in one of the final games of the season.

Tyjon has also appeared for the youth sides of both England and Poland. Having played for both nations' Under-16 side, he has now part of the Three Lions' Under-17 setup, scoring twice in eight appearances to date.

Arsenal have boasted an impressive array of academy strikers over the years with the likes of Eddie Nketiah, Mika Biereth and Chido Obi-Martin making headlines before moving away on permanent deals. However, there has been a clear pathway to the first team for some youngsters with players such as Bukayo Saka, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly all breaking into the senior side.

Tyjon would be a great addition to the Gunners' academy while also proving to be a good place for him to further his development as a young footballer. As Arsenal look to bolster their youth squads, signing Tyjon would not be a bad place to start.
