The Gunners managed to secure Champions League football after securing a 1-0 win over Newcastle.
Arsenal threatened to collapse down the stretch, but crucially picked up four points from two tricky outings to confirm their place in Europe's premier club competition for 2025/26.
Their 1-0 win over Newcastle at the Emirates locked the Gunners into second place in the Premier League table. The Magpies would've leapfrogged Sunday's hosts had they claimed their fourth victory over Mikel Arteta's side this term, but they were kept at arm's length by the superb David Raya.
Given how poorly the Gunners had played of late, there was a real threat that Mikel Arteta's side would need to go to Southampton and win in the final game of the season to punch their ticket into Europe.
Thankfully, the Gunners were able to dispatch the Magpies, even if it wasn't too pleasing on the eye, but at this stage of the year, all that matters is the result, and Arsenal got the right one.
Considering the summer Arsenal faces, offering Champions League football is a big carrot for respective targets, and now the Gunners have that in their back pocket.
Arsenal secure Champions League spot for next season

It does feel like the Arsene Wenger days when we praise the team for finishing inside the top four. Still, in this case, it's a consolation prize that Gunners fans are going to have to be happy with. Ending the year in this fashion after being up to their eyes in the title race, yes it is a tough pill to swallow.
But it could have been worse... far worse.
"That's what we wanted to achieve today," Arteta said via arsenal.com. "We had a few objectives, finishing second, finishing the Champions League spots and finishing the season in front of our people in the right manner with the right results. Two things have been achieved."
Now Arsenal can turn for the offseason with the knowledge of Champions League football in their back pocket and considering the needs of the squad, that is a big tick.
No, it wasn't what was wanted to begin the season, but at least the club managed to, in Arteta's eyes, completing one objective the club set out to do.
Now, the summer comes into view with all eyes on how "all-in" the Gunners are in making this squad better in the hope of finally pushing and winning the Premier League.
