Arsenal are set to reignite their interest in signing Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa, according to a report by Sami Mokbel of BBC Sport.
The Gunners were initially looking at the England international as a potential option earlier in the window, but no move materialised.
However, Mikel Arteta's side have now revisited Konsa as a possible target to bolster their defensive depth amid fitness concerns for William Saliba, but they will need to do serious work on the initial deal they presented in mid-July.

When Arsenal first approached Villa for Konsa in July, they were willing to pay a fee in the region of £30million, but this was swiftly rejected by the Europa League champions, who value their number four at £60m.
With this in mind, the Gunners are aware they will need to significantly improve their offer if they want to sign the 28-cap England international, but it is currently unclear if Unai Emery's side would allow the defender leave for a fee under their reported valuation.
Konsa has proven to be a crucial player for Villa since joining from Brentford in 2019. Having made 286 appearances, he has played a key part in the West Midlands outfit rising from relegation battlers to consistent contenders for the Premier League's European spots.
He played 48 times for his side last season, helping them to a fourth place finish in the league and a 3-0 victory over Freiburg in the final of the Europa League, winning the first piece of major silverware in his career.
His impressive performances at club level have also seen him establish himself in the England squad, earning him a call-up for this summer's World Cup. He appeared in all eight of his country's matches at the tournament on the way to finishing third with the Three Lions.
Konsa isn't the only defender Arsenal are currently showing interest in with the club also surprisingly linked with a move to sign Tottenham captain Cristian Romero. However, Spurs are not interested in selling their skipper to their North London rivals with a move to Atlético Madrid edging closer. It looks like Romero won't be following in the footsteps of Sol Campbell.
The Gunners are clearly eager to add to their defence with William Saliba facing a spell on the sidelines and Konsa is viewed as the preferred option in that pursuit. Arteta's side now face plenty of hard work to convince Villa to part with one of their best defenders.
