Jorginho has surpassed all the expectations bestowed upon him when he first signed from Chelsea. He was expected to be a temporary solution in the midfield but instead, he's become an invaluable squad player with the ability to step up when required.
However, Jorginho's terrific time in the Premier League might be coming to an end. Interest has spiked and it's coming from Turkey.
Arsenal transfer news: Jorginho linked to next club after contract expiry
According to a report from Turkish outlet Sabah, Beşiktaş are still working hard to convince Jorginho to join them. Sabah believes that Beşiktaş are eagerly close to convincing Jorginho, who could leave Arsenal for free at the end of this season due to his contract expiry.
Jorginho was not expected to make it past last season. However, it panned out that the Italian midfielder remained with Arsenal for at least one more season.
Given the way that the squad is developing, there is less and less need for Jorginho. He has fallen further down the pecking order, with the signings of Declan Rice and Mikel Merino in consecutive summer windows.
Still, Arsenal fans will only remember fond memories of Jorginho. Most notably, that strike at Villa Park which forced an own goal out of Emiliano Martinez.
Jorginho has won everything there is to win in Europe, However, one medal which evades his illustrious cabinet is the Premier League winners medal.
It is still Arsenal's objective to win the Premier League this season. However, they have certainly limited their chances given how poorly the start to this season has gone.
