Reports out of France suggest Paris Saint-Germain advisor Luis Campos is a name of interest in Arsenal's sporting director search.
The Gunners have been without a permanent sporting director since Edu Gaspar left the club last autumn, with his assistant, Jason Ayto, filling the position on an interim basis. Ayto was partly responsible for overseeing Arsenal's quiet January transfer window, although blame cannot be placed solely at the door of the director for the club's inability to make a single signing.
Nevertheless, it's imperative that Arsenal appoint Edu's successor in time for what's poised to be a crucial summer. There's already been talk of the Gunners overseeing an 'unprecedented' transfer window, but the club requires an expert at the helm to facilitate greater efficiency on the recruitment front.
Arsenal poised to do battle with Chelsea for PSG's Luis Campos

Speaking recently in regard to Arsenal's search for a new sporting director, manager Mikel Arteta commented (via DailyAFC on X): “Our plan is to nail the process that we believe is the best to try to find the person that is the best one for the moment that Arsenal is in right now. That’s what the club is trying to do.”
Wth Ayto unexpected to take on the role permanently, the Gunners are poised to make an external appointment. Real Sociedad's Roberto Olabe and Sparta Prague's Tomas Rosicky - a cult hero in these parts - have both been linked with the position. Now, an exclusive report from Le10 Sport writes that PSG advisor Campos is another name of interest.
Arsenal are set to do battle with London rivals Chelsea for his services, with Campos understood to have recently travelled to the English capital for reasons unknown. Both clubs are said to be 'pushing hard' to convince the 60-year-old to leave PSG having joined the club in 2022.

Campos, who spent just a couple of years as a pro and enjoyed a humble coaching career, gained great veneration for his work while operating as Monaco's sporting director between 2013 and 2016. He's played a leading role in recruitment at all of the clubs he's touched, and PSG are now reaping the benefits of his astute eye having parted ways with Kylian Mbappe last summer.
It's believed that Campos' contract with the French giants expires in the summer, but PSG are understanably attempting to negotiate a renewal with the freelancer who previously took on a role with Celta Vigo while working in the French capital. However, any extension with Les Parisiens would deter potential suitors.
