Arsenal unfazed by Real Madrid's transfer plan for William Saliba

Despite Real Madrid showing transfer interest in one of Arsenal's best players, Mikel Arteta is not fazed by the threat of losing him.
Real Madrid is the best club in the world. They win everything in sight due to their desire to never settle for second-best. So, it's natural that they are constantly linked to the best players in the world.
It's a nice feeling for Arsenal fans to know that the Gunners possess some of those players. In fact, Real Madrid would like their own slice of the Arsenal-pie, which shows how well Mikel Arteta is cooking.
However, Arsenal are not fazed by Real Madrid's transfer interest. In fact, the North London side is confident about keeping the best players.
Arsenal do not care about Real Madrid transfer threat for one reason
According to a report from Express, Arsenal understand that Real Madrid have identified William Saliba as a key transfer target. However, the Gunners are not fazed because they think Saliba will stay in North London for the future.
William Saliba joined Arsenal in 2019. However, he didn't make his breakthrough until 2022. Then, he became a key member of the 2022/23 title charge, before his detrimental injury.
Last season, William Saliba remained injury free and established himself as one of the best defenders in the world. He is certainly the best in the Premier League, hence Real Madrid's transfer interest.
Despite the interest from Los Blancos, William Saliba is committed to Mikel Arteta's cause. He was signed by Unai Emery but given his first shot in the first-team by Mikel Arteta.
The truth is that Arsenal hold all of the cards in this saga. They have William Saliba under contract until June 2027 so they are in no rush to sell him. Even if they did decide to sell him, Real Madrid would need to push the boat out for a transfer fee.
That said, Real Madrid always have options. While William Saliba is considered a "primary" transfer target, he isn't THE transfer target. The reason why Real Madrid rarely fail in the transfer market is because they have a list full of options, at all times.
Real Madrid missed out on signing Leny Yoro in the summer transfer window. We won't name who he eventually signed for but the belief is that he's still destined to join the Spanish capital. After all, he is a Golden Boy nominee, he cannot stay in mid-table mediocrity for too long.
