Arsenal bring their pre-season campaign to a close with one final friendly against Serie A side Como on Wednesday evening.

The Gunners fell to a second consecutive defeat last time out as a 3-2 loss to Borussia Dortmund prevented them from winning a fifth straight Emirates Cup title. Goals from Samuele Inácio, Konstantinos Karetsas and Joane Gadou were enough to fight off strikes from Ethan Nwaneri and Viktor Gyökeres and win the game for the German side.

Mikel Arteta will be hoping his side can avoid another defeat and end pre-season on a high as he goes head to head with fellow former Arsenal captain Cesc Fàbregas for the first time.

Bruno Guimarães was officially unveiled ahead of the defeat to Dortmund following his £75million move from Newcastle and there is a possibility he could make his Arsenal debut on Wednesday, albeit that will likely come off the bench.

Martin Ødegaard and Max Dowman could be among those to keep their spots in the starting lineup while David Raya could come in between the sticks after returning to action following his World Cup triumph with Spain.

The remainder of the Gunners' international stars have also made their comeback and the likes of Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice and Eberechi Eze could be set for some involvement tomorrow evening, but like Guimarães, that will come from the bench.

Arteta will be without William Saliba and Jurrien Timber however as the pair continue their respective recoveries from injury.

Having suffered a relatively poor pre-season, Arsenal will be eager to end their campaign on a high before turning their attention to the Community Shield clash with Manchester City on Sunday.

Como shocked Serie A to finish fourth and qualify for the Champions League last season and as they look towards an historic term, they will be eager to send a statement at the home of one of Europe's biggest sides.

Despite the challenge I Lariani pose, the Gunners should overcome the tough test. With their squad back to full strength, key players will likely get their chance to make an impact and help Arsenal get the better of Como.
