This was a chaotic match that had pretty much everything. From the ninth minute, when Erling Haaland knocked in his 100th goal for the club to put the home side one up, to John Stones 90+8 mins equaliser to deny Arsenal a win that they thoroughly deserved, there was barely a moment for the crowd to gather their wits.

Rodri going off injured after 20 minutes handed the initiative back to Arsenal and Riccardo Calafiori took full advantage within two minutes when he swept home Arsenal's equaliser.

Gabriel put the visitors ahead, heading home from a corner at the far post in first-half stoppage time. It was a carbon copy of Gabriel's winner against Tottenham a week earlier.

Joy turned to despair a few minutes later when Leandro Trossard was sent off for a second bookable offence, leaving Arsenal with ten men. What was going through Trossard's mind when he kicked the ball way is anybody's guess.

Throughout the second half, City camped in the Arsenal half and the Gunners dug in. With grit, determination and a slice of luck Arsenal held out. Just as it looked like Arteta's men had pulled off an incredible victory, Stones scored from a well worked short corner and the spoils were shared.
