Arsenal are now officially trailing the title race after Manchester City won their game in-hand against Burnley on Wednesday night. The Burnley clash was not originally the game in hand, but the FA Cup meant City played early and Arsenal will go back ahead on games played this weekend.

City currently only lead on goals scored, with Burnley doing the Gunners a big favour by holding Pep Guardiola's men to a 1-0 win, and it's going to be an incredibly tight spring to the finish.

Arsenal know they must hold up their end of the bargain between now and the end of the season to avoid any further lost ground, and they face an interesting test at home to Newcastle United on Saturday.

Newcastle are in the midst of a very disappointing season, and they are in very poor form, but they do still have a strong squad, and they pose a big test for Arsenal, especially with the added pressure the Gunners must manage.

Ahead of this clash, we have rounded up the latest injury news surrounding both sides.

Emil Krafth - Out

Krafth was ruled out for the season in February after picking up a serious knee injury and requiring surgery.

Fabian Schar - Out

Schar has been dealing with a strange issue that will keep him out until some time in May. Eddie Howe said just under two weeks ago: "Fabian suffered an infection in his foot, so he is in hospital having a minor surgery on that, so he will be out for about a month."

Joelinton - Out (Suspended)

Joelinton is absent through suspension after he reached the second yellow card limit.

Antony Gordon - Doubt

Gordon has picked up a knock and will be a doubt until confirmed otherwise. Howe said last week: "With Anthony, we’re unclear when he’ll be back. We don’t think it’s a long-term injury, but whether he makes next week, we don’t know. We’ll have to see how he goes this week in training."

Tino Livramento - Out

Livramento has picked up a significant injury, although the extent of it has not been confirmed, with a second scan required, as per recent reports. Howe said last week after the injury: "For Tino, that’s a huge blow for him and for us. I actually thought that Kieran’s [Trippier] introduction at the start of the second half made us stronger, but then losing him was a big blow..."

Mikel Merino - Out

Merino could be out for the season after undergoing surgery earlier in the year, although it's not out of the question that he returns for the last game of the season. Arteta said recently: "He's another one that is going to push every boundary. He's out of his boot now. He's doing quite a lot of exercises already. He's reacted really well to the surgery. He's got no pain... I'm sure there is a chance to make that period shorter."

Bukayo Saka - Out

Saka is out until early May with a lower leg issue. Arteta said before the City game: "Bukayo is out, that's for sure. He's just starting to do some stuff, so let's see that progression, how quickly we can go through it, and then wait, but at the moment it's not about that."

Riccardo Calafiori - Doubt

Calafiori has been dealing with a minor issue and could return here. Arteta said last week, ahead of the City game: "Some players are quite close, but the turnaround is short, so we will try to push everybody [tomorrow]. If they are in good condition, they will be part of us, and if not, they won't. They haven't been in the last few weeks, unfortunately."

Jurrien Timber - Doubt

The same update was applied to Timber, who will also be pushing to return here.
