3. They can bring out the worst in Arsenal
If Forest push the right buttons, they might just cause Arsenal to self-destruct (apologies to my fellow, anxious Gooners).
Other teams have succeeded on that front: at Bournemouth, the pressure put on Leandro Trossard forced the wayward kick which sent Evanilson through on goal and, ultimately, led to William Saliba’s red card.
Then, on Tyneside, Newcastle surrendered the ball and dared Arsenal – without Martin Odegaard – to try break them down, with an inability to do so only highlighting the creative issues that defined our grim autumnal spell.
Opponents know how to frustrate us and Forest boast all they need (e.g. low-block comfort, pace across the pitch, midfield numbers, etc.) to achieve a similar result here, a troubling thought given the low confidence levels in the Gunners camp.
Arsenal are often their own worst enemy and any repeat of that recent carelessness/dithering will be the final blow to our title dream – a win is the only thing that can lift us out of our current domestic slump.
Let the Forest burn.
