Arsenal return to Premier League action on Saturday afternoon as they welcome West Ham to the Emirates Stadium for a London derby.

The Gunners head into the clash in winning form after defeating Olympiacos 2-0 in the Champions League. Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring from close range before Bukayo Saka put the seal on victory in second-half stoppage time.

West Ham ended their two game losing streak last time out with a 1-1 draw away to Everton. Jarrod Bowen rescued a point for the Hammers after Michael Keane had put the Toffees ahead at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

As they look to continue putting pressure on Liverpool at the top of the table, Arsenal will be on the hunt for their fifth win of the season. West Ham find themselves in a contrasting situation and will go in search of just their second triumph in a bid to escape the relegation zone.

Here's our preview of the Gunners' capital clash with West Ham.

Arsenal team news

After injuries prevented it from happening, fans could see Bukayo Saka, Martin Ødegaard and Eberechi Eze all start together for the first time on Saturday. The captain will continue in the midfield position he impressed in against Olympiacos while Saka and Eze could replace Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.

Dropping Martinelli would be harsh given his recent performances, but he will likely be trusted to make an impact off the bench once again.

Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori will return to midfield and full back respectively after being dropped to the bench in midweek. Mikel Merino, Ben White and Myles Lewis-Skelly will return to the subsitutes list as a result.

Gabriel Magalhaes is hoped to be available after being forced off in the Champions League. Mikel Arteta stressed after the game that the injury wasn't serious and thinks the Brazilian will be okay.

Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz and Noni Madueke will remain absent for Arsenal while Piero Hincapié is expected to miss another month of action.

Predicted Arsenal lineup vs West Ham: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Ødegaard, Zubimendi, Rice; Saka, Gyökeres, Eze

West Ham team news

Tomáš Souček will be unavailable for the Hammers as he serves the third and final game of his suspension following his red card in a 3-0 loss to Tottenham earlier in the season. George Earthy faces four to six weeks out with a hamstring problems so will join Souček on the sidelines for the derby.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka could make his return from a stomach issue after training with his teammates ahead of the game. If he is to be involved though, he would likely be introduced from the bench.

Captain Jarrod Bowen will lead West Ham out at the Emirates and will be looking to replicate his performance from this fixture last season. He netted the winner in a 1-0 victory for his side in north London.

Predicted West Ham lineup vs Arsenal: Areola; Walker-Peters, Mavropanos, Kilman, Diouf; Magassa; Bowen, Fernandes, Paqueta, Summerville; Füllkrug

Arsenal vs West Ham score prediction

With both sides finding themselves very much in opposite situations, they will be eager to take all three points from this derby match.

A win will be crucial for Arsenal as they look to keep up with league leaders Liverpool. They should be the strong favourites heading into this tie and should come away with a comfortable victory.

West Ham could make life difficult for the Gunners, just as they have done in their previous two visits to the Emirates, but they are a poorer side compared to those times and won't likely have much of an impact. Arteta's side can not afford to be complacent however and should be wary that the Hammers will pose a threat at times.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-0 West Ham
