One Arsenal winger has attracted the attention of Bayern Munich.

This summer, Arsenal is in the business of acquiring top players to bolster its squad for what it hopes will be a genuine title tilt, not letting stars go.

And yes, we understand that we are at the silly season stage of the offseason with rumors flying around, but some have truth, and for Gunners fans, we aren't sure how they will feel about this latest development.

With Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyorekes the subject of nearly all of Arsenal's attention given the need for the club to sign a star striker, there is another forward that the Gunners might have to keep an eye on.

Given the need for the Gunners to strengthen the wide areas with only Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard as the proper options (Ethan Nwaneri too), another quality player is needed to further raise the floor.

But according to Christian Falk of Bild Sport, Bayern Munich have signaled interest in Martinelli this offseason.

"There is said to have been contact with Gabriel Martinelli’s management," Falk wrote. "The 24-year-old, whose contract expires in 2027, has a market value of €55m [£47.1m]."

Hmm. Color us intrigued.

Now, given the need for the Gunners to add more attacking weapons, not lose them, we aren't too sure how Mikel Arteta would feel about losing Martinelli.

Given the lack of depth already, losing the Brazilian wouldn't be ideal, but yes, this is just a rumor, but we imagine that Falk has good sources on the subject.

With Martinelli struggling to find consistent form over the past 18 months, with his final ball being the biggest bugaboo for fans, the winger needs to sharpen up as Arsenal will look to add more firepower out wide with Real Madrid star Rodrygo reportedly on the transfer wish list.

Despite his inconsistencies, the Gunners surely can't allow Martinelli to leave, and yes, he is contracted, but as we know, sometimes that counts for little.

So, Bayern Munich's interest in the Brazilian is certainly something to watch in the coming weeks.
