Thomas Partey (CM) - 6.5/10 - Started really well. The midfielder looked lean and agile as he mopped up everything in the middle of the park. Sloppy on occasion, and influence did wane after a bright opening.

Declan Rice (CM) - 7/10 - Not a glamourous Rice performance, but a gritty and necessary one. Offered handy press resistance when the Gunners attempted to build up, and was a big-time dueller.

Mikel Merino (CM) - 6/10 - Fetish for duelling meant he spent much of the opening period on his backside. We saw what Merino will provide moving forward on his first Arsenal start, but there's more to come from the Spaniard in possession.
